Tennis In The Neighborhood (TIN)

Begun as a 3-week pilot program in August 2012, Tennis In the Neighborhood provides a diverse population of children from underserved neighborhoods with the opportunity to participate in a summer program combining life skills mentoring, literacy activities and tennis instruction. TIN’s objective is to develop on-court and off-court skills and create enthusiasm for tennis that results in increased participation in other New HYTEs programs such as Junior Team Tennis. The program culminates with a Family Day at the Connecticut Open at Yale which includes lunch, passes to watch the quarter-finals of the singles draw, and a tennis clinic.
